Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to make changes for Tottenham EFL Cup tie

LIVERPOOL -- Jurgen Klopp has said he is likely to make a "few changes" when Liverpool host Tottenham in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Danny Ings, Marko Grujic, Ovie Ejaria, Kevin Stewart and Trent Alexander-Arnold were all absent from the under-23s' win over Everton on Sunday and could feature against the Londoners.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino recently revealed that he plans to give his younger players a chance in the tie.

And Klopp, who made seven changes in the last round at Derby following a Premier League win at Chelsea, told a news conference: "Actually I thought after the Chelsea game not about who I should rest, only who should play the next game.

"And that's the same thing now. It's likely that there will be a few changes, but I didn't make a final decision until now about this.

"It's a really short turnaround since we played last time [against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday].

"Last year I always mentioned that the last game is not important, it's more about the next game. It's not resting because there's another game.

"It's not important how many games you had until now. Now we only think about the Tottenham game and what we have to do to beat them."

Klopp also confirmed that he had no serious injury concerns ahead of the Anfield tie.

"There are a few knocks," he added. "A few boys didn't train yesterday. Nothing serious until now, so hopefully it stays like this."

Captain Jordan Henderson serves a one-match suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card as Liverpool beat West Brom 2-1.
