Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool will be prepared for 'strong' Swansea test

LIVERPOOL -- Jurgen Klopp believes Swansea City's position in the Premier League table does not provide a true reflection of the ability within Francesco Guidolin's side.

Liverpool travel to South Wales for Saturday's early kick-off to take on the Swans, who find themselves in 17th place in the league with just four points acquired from six games so far this season.

Swansea were unfortunate not to come away with any points from their encounter with league leaders Manchester City last weekend, and Klopp insists he is fully aware of the threat they will present on Saturday lunchtime.

"They are much better than what four points look like," Klopp told a news conference at Melwood on Thursday afternoon. "That's how it is. They are a good football-playing side with a clear plan and different options in their style of play, good defending.

"If you want, it's a typical Premier League problem -- you analyse an opponent and you think 'OK, that's quite strong. They are unlucky in this situation'.

"But of course, we cannot lean back and think 'that's how it is until, so it will stay like this' especially on Saturday.

"We will be prepared for this game and nobody should be in doubt that we know about the quality of Swansea."

Klopp continued: "We lost there last season after a difficult week for us when we lost in Villarreal in the 90th minute. [We] came back and it was quite early, so then we had to play there on Sunday at 12 o'clock.

"That was really hard for us and we didn't perform really well. We deserved the defeat but this time we want to deserve something else and that's the plan."

Meanwhile, the Reds boss revealed that striker Divock Origi was a doubt for the trip to the Liberty Stadium with a foot issue.

However, he said the Belgian's injury was the only fitness concern he faced ahead of the game against Swansea.

"Not too much news," Klopp replied when asked about injuries. "Nothing really to talk about. It's a normal training week with a couple of little things here and little things there.

"In this moment, [there is] not someone really in doubt. Maybe Divock. He got a little knock on his foot where we had to do a few more assessments but, at the end, it's nothing major. But it could be.

"Maybe it's a little too short [a] period until the game but we have to see."
