Gerard Houllier praises Klopp, backs Liverpool to win Premier League title

Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier reckons Jurgen Klopp's team are good enough to win their first title in England's top division since 1990.

Houllier, who was in charge at Anfield from 1998 to 2004 likes the way Liverpool are playing at the moment, with Klopp's side netting 16 league goals in six games, with only Manchester City having a better record.

"The best is yet to come," Houllier said at Soccerex. "They [Liverpool] are definitely good enough."

Not only have Liverpool won three consecutive games after their 5-1 demolition of Hull City at the weekend, they are playing an attacking game that the fans want, focusing around the talented Brazilian duo of Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.

"They are entertaining and [are] also extremely efficient," he added. "You just have to see the number of goals they score.

"They have a new philosophy and I like the coach."

Next up for Liverpool will be a tricky away game against Swansea City on Saturday.
