Jurgen Klopp will return to former club Mainz this summer when Liverpool face the Bundesliga outfit in a preseason friendly.
The Reds will meet Mainz in the opening game at the newly-named Opel Arena on Aug. 7 as Klopp comes up against the club he spent seven years at between 2001 and 2008.
During his time at Mainz, Klopp guided the club into the Bundesliga before securing qualification for the UEFA Cup.

The game against Mainz will be Liverpool's final preseason friendly, with the club also facing Tranmere Rovers, Fleetwood Town, Wigan Athletic and Huddersfield Town, as well as competing in the International Champions Cup, where they are due to play Chelsea, AC Milan, Roma and Barcelona.
"We last played Mainz 05 in a friendly in 2006 so it will be great to meet them again this summer," Liverpool's chief commercial officer Billy Hogan told the club's official website.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have announced that they have submitted a planning application for creating a specially designed walkway featuring fan tributes outside Anfield.
