Roberto Firmino has plenty more to provide for Liverpool - Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says the best is yet to come for Roberto Firmino in the Premier League.

Firmino was a £29 million summer signing from Hoffenheim, where he scored 38 Bundesliga goals in three and a half seasons.

But the 24-year-old had yet to truly shine for his new club until last week's surprise 4-1 thrashing of title favourites Manchester City.

And Klopp was not surprised by the Brazilian's performance and said he had tracked him while still manager of Borussia Dortmund.

"I did not know him as a person before I came here but I knew him and liked him as a player and he is still not 100 percent to where he can go -- not even close yet," Klopp said.

"We spoke at the beginning and you could tell from his face he is looking forward to working together. I know him very well so he doesn't have to do something special [to convince me].

"He is a big physical talent, really strong, it is not easy to get the ball from him. He is the complete offensive player.

"He is fast in a special way and very, very good at shooting, something we have not seen here until now.

"So still there is a lot to come and it is a good situation for the club."

There is also a long way to go in the Premier League season, and as Liverpool prepare to face Swansea on Sunday, Klopp warned that any discussions of a title run would be premature.

"I have a little bit of experience with winning titles -- not the biggest but a little," he said. "So I know what helps and what doesn't -- and what doesn't help is to talk about things you have no influence on.

"We are eight points behind Leicester and six points off fourth place. We've only played most teams once and we can only take three points from each game, so we just need to keep on working.

"We have to use our situation in good moments and to accept our situation in bad moments -- and then to work.

"That's all we can do. Let's see where we are in May or June. I don't even know when the season ends!"
