Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge set for scan on latest injury - Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Daniel Sturridge is to undergo a scan on a foot problem.

Sturridge, 26, was expected to feature for the Reds in their 2-1 Europa League win over Bordeaux on Thursday, only to be left out of the squad after sustaining another injury.

The England international has played just 242 minutes across three matches this season due to fitness issues, while he has still yet to play under Klopp.

"I can't say so much about this [injury]," Klopp told BT Sport ahead of kick-off against Bordeaux.

"We trained this morning, we went to the hotel, he was with us and then he had to leave to have a scan. I cannot say more, we have to wait for the results."

Klopp added after the match: "Nothing new [on Sturridge] in this moment. We have to wait."

Sturridge missed the beginning of the season after undergoing hip surgery towards the end of the last campaign, while he then sustained a knee injury on the eve of Klopp's first match in charge against Tottenham on Oct. 17.

After returning to Liverpool training last week, the striker was an unused substitute in Saturday's 4-1 win over Manchester City.
