Steven Gerrard says he's eager to learn from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Steven Gerrard says he's excited to work with new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp when he joins his former team for training.

The LA Galaxy midfielder will train with Liverpool for two weeks during the Major League Soccer offseason, though he ruled out any possibility of a short-term loan.

But there will be a new boss at the Melwood training center than when he left as Klopp has replaced Gerrard's final manager at Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers.

Speaking as a pundit for BT Sport on Tuesday, Gerrard said he's keen to revisit his old haunts.

"Next week, I'm going to go in for a couple of weeks and work with Mr. Klopp so I'm really looking forward to that to see what he's about and try and learn a few things off him," Gerrard said.

Gerrard also had kind words for his former Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez, who scored twice for Barcelona in their 6-1 Champions League rout of Roma.

"He's almost gone to another level and I didn't think it was possible," Gerrard said. "Some of the goals that he's scoring, they're goals that you didn't think were possible.

"He seems to be at the place now where he wanted to be. He seems settled and for me now he's in the top three best players in the world."
