Liverpool's Cameron Brannagan set to sign new deal - sources

Liverpool starlet Cameron Brannagan has agreed to sign a new deal at Anfield, sources have told ESPN FC.

Brannagan is highly rated at Anfield and his previous deal was due to expire this summer, but the midfielder will put pen to paper and extend his contract for another year.

The 19-year-old is a regular in the club's under-21s and he has been a standout performer in recent weeks, pushing him to the fringes of the Liverpool first team.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has added him to the first-team squad in recent weeks and named the England youth international as an unused substitute for the recent Premier League games with Arsenal, Newcastle and Hull, as well as high-profile cup ties against Besiktas and Blackburn.

The skilful playmaker has yet to make his senior debut, but there have been calls for Rodgers to give him a chance in the final two games of the season having already handed young striker Jerome Sinclair his debut in the draw at Chelsea last week.

Brannagan is tipped for a bright future at Anfield and news of his new deal will come as a welcome boost to the club.
