Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli: Someone doesn't like me

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has claimed that "someone doesn't like me" in a cryptic social media post.

Balotelli did not specify who he meant when he posted the message on Instagram after the Reds' 2-0 Premier League win over Burnley.

The Italy international also used the post to insist that he is a team player, and that anyone suggesting otherwise is wrong.

His post read: "Someone doesn't like me. But differently of what they say about me, I'm a team player and I'm so proud of my team,of this win and of these fans! Let's keep going. Bravi ragazzi!!! YNWA!!!"

"YNWA" stands for You'll Never Walk Alone, Liverpool's motto, while "Bravi ragazzi" means "well done, lads."

Balotelli has scored one Premier League goal since arriving at Anfield from AC Milan for 16 million pounds in August on a three-year deal.

Manager Brendan Rodgers admitted in December that the striker does not fit into the 3-4-3 system he has adopted to improve the side's form after a slow start to the season.

The manager insisted soon after that Balotelli would not be sold during the mid-season transfer window, despite interest from Inter Milan.

But Rodgers has never publicly given any guarantee that the 24-year-old will stay at Anfield beyond the end of the season.

That has led to speculation about the long-term future of Balotelli, who has been linked with Sampdoria in recent days.

The striker caused controversy when he appeared to overrule his captain his captain Jordan Henderson in deciding to take a penalty in a 1-0 Europa League round-of-32 first leg match against Besiktas at Anfield on Feb. 19.

Balotelli scored the spot kick, and Rodgers insisted afterwards that he had the right to take it, as he was above Henderson in the pecking order of Liverpool penalty takers.

However, the manager also said after that match that Balotelli was not working hard enough for the team.
