Estadio Azteca was set to host the Clasico Nacional this weekend.

Mexico's Clasico Nacional and all other Liga MX matches this weekend have been postponed after a magnitude 7.1 earthquake rocked the capital and surrounding states on Tuesday.

Over 200 people have died in the earthquake after dozens of buildings collapsed. The rescue and clean-up operation is ongoing.

Mexican football has halted in order for the country to recover from an earthquake.

Mexican clubs have rallied to aid the relief effort after a magnitude 7.1 earthquake caused devastation in Mexico City and surrounding states on Tuesday.

More than 200 people died as buildings collapsed, with all midweek Copa MX matches postponed as the country recovers.

Copa MX matches cancelled after magnitude 7.1 earthquake hits Mexico

The Copa MX match between Cruz Azul and Club America was cancelled after a large earthquake hit south of Mexico City.

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Mexico has forced the postponement of all of this week's Copa MX matches including a Tuesday night game between Mexico City clubs, Cruz Azul and America.

The national soccer league said the game that had been scheduled for Tuesday evening would be rescheduled for a later date, as part of the Copa MX championship series.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered near the Puebla state town of Raboso, about 76 miles (123 kilometers) southeast of Mexico City.
