Leicester's Riyad Mahrez: I will give everything for the club while I'm here

Riyad Mahrez has vowed to "give everything" to Leicester City for as long as he remains at the club.

Mahrez, 26, went into a self-imposed exile following Leicester's refusal to sell him to Manchester City on transfer deadline day in January, only returning to training with Claude Puel's squad last month.

A source told ESPN FC that Mahrez remains determined to leave Leicester at the end of the season, with the player believing that he has been loyal to the club since helping them to their surprise Premier League title success in 2015-16.

Despite that, Mahrez has returned to his best form of late and sensationally scored a last-gasp free kick to rescue the Foxes a point in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, the Algeria international said: "It was a difficult situation but, while I am here, I will give everything for the club -- that's how I am.

"I was very pleased with the way the fans have been with me throughout this. It was important for me. That's why I will keep giving everything for the club.

"It's for moments like this [the goal] that you play football. Never give up. It was brave but sometimes you have to be.

"Obviously, we didn't get the win but at least we didn't lose so that's the most important thing."
