Leicester manager Nigel Pearson: Our quality let us down

While Swansea were able to celebrate ending their winless run, Leicester slumped to a third defeat in four games since stunning 5-3 win over Manchester United last month.

Manager Nigel Pearson admitted his side contributed to their own downfall in south Wales, but is refusing to get downbeat by their poor recent form.

He said: "Our quality let us down. I look at the first half in particular, unforced errors in possession. We put ourselves under too much pressure, because we constantly gave the ball away and that's where we have to improve.

"Our performance has not reflected what we are capable of. But for the most part this season we've applied ourselves exceptionally well. We can still get better, and we will get better.''

Pearson said Leicester had questioned the size of the goal posts before kick-off after his goalkeepers had raised some concerns, but the match officials said it was not a problem.

"The goalkeepers felt they were a bit high,'' Pearson said. "I thought it was in everyone's best interest to get it checked and it was quite light-hearted.

"The officials were slightly surprised, but everything was fine. I could have done with it being a bit smaller!

"It is very easy to look at the goals and lay the blame for defeats but ultimately what you do with the ball when you have it is equally important, if not more.

"We didn't do enough with the ball and then it becomes a frustrating day.''
