Leeds U23 friendly at Rhyl FC called off after mass second-half brawl

Rhyl FC have launched an investigation after a friendly match against Leeds under-23s on Tuesday was abandoned following a mass brawl in the second half.

Video footage, which appeared online, showed a melee involving both sides with punches being thrown, mainly by Rhyl's Tony Davies.

Leeds were reported to have left the field and the game was called off with the score goalless.

Rhyl, who play in the Huws Gray Alliance league, said on their official website: "Following the abandonment of the friendly match between Rhyl FC and a Leeds United XI this evening (Nov. 21) the club will now launch an internal investigation into the incidents which resulted in the match being halted during the second half.

"The club will issue no further statement until the completion of this work."
