Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi honoured by links to Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool

Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi said he would be flattered if Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool were interested in him.

Icardi, 21, has been prolific during a season-and-a-half with Inter after signing from Sampdoria, with United reportedly scouting him during the 3-0 victory over Palermo on Feb. 8.

While the Argentine forward said his focus is on helping the Nerazzurri, he would be "honoured" if he was a target for the English clubs.

"I'm not interested in rumours, what counts is winning with Inter," he told reporters.

"If the ones about United, Chelsea and Liverpool were real, I would be honoured, because they are big clubs, but I'm already in a great team where I can win something important."

Icardi, who has won one full cap for Argentina, has scored 27 goals 55 games for Inter and has also been linked with Juventus.

Inter's sporting director Piero Ausilio said last week that the club are not worried about losing Icardi despite growing interest in the forward.

Icardi joined the club on a five-year contract in 2013, but Ausilio says there is no rush to renew that deal despite concerns over the player's happiness.

The 21-year-old refused to celebrate scoring twice aganst Palermo following a clash with fans in the defeat to Sassuolo a week earlier.
