Harry Redknapp: No QPR moves for Robbie Keane or Jermain Defoe

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has denied making any approach for MLS duo Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe.

QPR are reported to be in the market for a striker and have been linked with Keane and Defoe, both of whom worked with Redknapp when he was the manager of Tottenham.

LA Galaxy forward Keane, the Major League Soccer MVP, has said he is open to a transfer and that "sometimes change is good for everybody."

Redknapp, however, denied suggestions the player could be on his way to Loftus Road.

"Robbie's an amazing footballer, one of the best professionals I've come across," he said.

"He's gone over there and been the best player in the league -- he hasn't gone there for a holiday -- but he belongs to the LA Galaxy and is the star man of their team and league.

"We've never made an enquiry about him. They wouldn't let him go."

Toronto FC's Defoe was strongly linked with a move to QPR in the summer, and there have been indications that his club would be willing to let him move on.

But Redknapp said: "I've never spoken to Jermain. I asked about him in the summer, but he was too expensive and the club wouldn't let him go anyway. He's a top player."
