Everton in talks to sign David Henen

Everton have confirmed they are in talks to sign teenage forward David Henen from Anderlecht.

Manager Roberto Martinez said he is looking to bring the 18-year-old to Goodison Park.

Born in Luxembourg, Henen joined the youth set-up at Belgian club Standard Liege when he was 12, then moved to Belgian rivals Anderlecht three years later.

The Belgium youth international was linked with a move to Manchester United when he was just 15, and has also reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal.

Henen spent last season on loan at Monaco, where he played for their reserve side in the Championnat de France Amateur, the fourth tier of French football.

Should Everton complete a deal for Henen, he is likely to be involved with their Under-21 side this coming season.

The club's only signing so far this summer is former Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry, who signed a three-year contract on July 8.
