Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi says he is looking forward to Thursday night's Europa League clash with Dynamo Kiev -- because there is no VAR. Inzaghi and his club feel they have been on the receiving end of numerous incorrect VAR decisions in Serie A, or that VAR has not been used in their favour when it should have been. UEFA have not yet agreed to use the technology in its club competitions and Inzaghi says it is a relief as his side bid to reach the quarterfinals of the Europa League after a 2-2 draw with their Ukrainian rivals in the first leg. "I'm pleased that there is no VAR in Europe," Inzaghi said at a news conference. "You all saw what happened in Cagliari and I don't want to talk about it anymore. Lazio aren't a club who complain about incidents, but there have been some incidents which have gone against Lazio and this damned VAR needs to be used correctly." Lazio felt they had been deprived a penalty in their 2-2 draw with Cagliari whereas their hosts were awarded a spot-kick through the VAR in a similar situation. Meanwhile, a group of 11 Lazio fans are to take the Lega Serie A to court over what they feel were injustices committed by the referees in Lazio's 3-1 defeat to Torino in December. "The case, which is the first of its kind in Italy, regards the conduct of the two referees who, according to those pushing the case, seriously and without motivation in view of the current regulations and the VAR protocol, deprived the side of a clear penalty and then unjustifiably sent off a Biancoceleste forward," said a statement from the Lazio fans' lawyers Flaviano Sanzari and Stefano Previti, reports La Repubblica.
