Galaxy signing Ibrahimovic would be 'like a dream come true' - Dos Santos

SAN ANTONIO -- Mexico international Giovani dos Santos is hoping his LA Galaxy side can close the deal on bringing Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Major League Soccer.

The 36-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Galaxy recently, with Ibrahimovic's agent indicating that the Swede is considering it.

Dos Santos, who joined the Galaxy in July 2015, said would be delighted to play alongside the Swedish great.

"I don't know if it is going to happen but he's a legend, one of the best strikers in history of soccer," said Dos Santos after Mexico's 1-0 victory against Bosnia & Herzegovina.

"So if he comes he is very welcome and for sure everyone would be very happy to have him in the team."

If Ibrahimovic does sign for LA Galaxy, he'd likely form a partnership in attack with the Mexican, something Dos Santos would relish.

"It would be like a dream come true," said Dos Santos. "I've been able to play with some of the best strikers in the world.

"I played with Robbie Keane, so to bring a total player like Zlatan would be huge for our attack."

Ibrahimovic suffered a serious knee injury last April, scuppering a potential move to MLS last year, but he has since returned, making seven league and cup appearances this season, although the former Sweden international suffered a setback at the end of December.

Ibrahimovic is under contract with Manchester United until the end of the season, but competition up front at the Premier League club increased with the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
