Kaizer Chiefs confirm lengthy Lebogang Manyama lay-off

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that playmaker Lebogang Manyama will miss the next six weeks with a fractured elbow, while there are also concerns over star forward Khama Billiat.

Manyama was involved in a car accident on Tuesday and although he has been discharged from hospital, scans have confirmed that he will only return towards the end of November, missing next week's Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.

"Manyama has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a fractured elbow," Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner told the club's website. "Lebo went through MRI scans yesterday and that revealed a fractured elbow. He will accordingly be treated and be put under a recovery plan."

Milner also confirmed that Colombian forward Leonardo Castro and Madagascan playmaker Dax were still sidelined, and said that Zimbabwean star Billiat had returned from international duty with a sore back.

The club will assess Billiat for Sunday's Telkom Knockout last 16 clash at home to Black Leopards, but may take a cautious approach to ensure he is fit for the Pirates showdown.
