Allegri's Juventus future undecided amid Inter Milan links

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said there is nothing to read into the fact he has yet to extend his contract beyond 2020, as speculation mounts this could be his last season at the club.

Inter Milan are the latest club linked with the former AC Milan boss, who has previously been a reported target for both Chelsea and Manchester United.

He has won a Serie A and Coppa Italia double in each of his four seasons on the Juve bench, but they cannot repeat that this season, having already been eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Atalanta.

"It's simple: I saw the president the other day and, like every year, we will see each other again to discuss how the year is going and the future, but there are no problems," he said at a news conference ahead of the clash with Napoli. "Then I will decide, he will decide -- we will decide -- without any problems.

"I'm attached to Juve and we have had a lot of satisfaction from these four years. We are still in the hunt for the league title and the Champions League. I'm just sorry about the reactions there were [to losing in Madrid.]

"There were too many expectations that Juve should win 3-0 at Atletico, but that's what not very intelligent people think."

Despite having reached two Champions Leagues finals under Allegri, they have yet to claim the trophy they covet most and their hopes of winning it this season are hanging by a thread after a 2-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie.

They can increase their lead over Napoli at the top of Serie A to 16 points with 12 games remaining by beating Carlo Ancelotti's side when they meet an San Paolo on Sunday night, but just winning the league may not be enough to keep Allegri in a job.
