Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci out 45-60 days with hamstring injury

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci will be out for between 45 and 60 days because of a hamstring injury, the team announced on Monday.

The Italy international was injured in Juve's 3-1 loss at Genoa on Sunday, and underwent tests upon returning to Turin.

The 29-year-old Bonucci will miss matches until at least the middle of January.

"An injury to the hamstring of his left thigh has been identified, leaving him with a predicted recovery time of around 45-60 days," Juve said in a statement.

The Bianconeri did not give any updates on the condition of right-back Daniel Alves, who fractured his leg against Genoa.

"His recovery time will be determined on the basis of the clinical and radiographic tests that will be monitored in the coming days," the club said.
