Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon set to take on Napoli after midweek rest

Gianluigi Buffon's agent Silvano Martina says the Juventus goalkeeper is refreshed and ready to face Napoli after being given a rest in midweek.

Buffon 38, was replaced by Neto for Juve's 4-1 win over Sampdoria on Wednesday and Martina says Buffon was grateful to coach Massimiliano Allegri for giving him a few days off in order to recharge the batteries for Saturday night's clash with the Azzurri.

"I've had lunch with Gigi and he told me that he was pleased that Neto played against Sampdoria," Martina told Radio Kiss Kiss. "He needed to recover a little. It's going to be a delicate game against Napoli, but it's not going to be decisive."

Martina added that there can be no question that his client remains not only Juve and Italy's first choice goalkeeper, even if he was given a rare rest in midweek.

"Buffon's the best goalkeeper in the world and that is clear to everybody," he said, before paying a compliment to the man who will be standing at the other end of the field, former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

"He's a top international goalkeeper and he's crucial in this Napoli side," Martina said. "He always takes control of the situation."
