Allegri has urged Juventus to 'avoid complacency' after Zagreb win

Massimiliano Allegri has urged his Juventus players to "avoid complacency" after their 4-0 Champions League rout of Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.

Goals from Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and a deflected free kick from Dani Alves gave the Turin giants maximum points.

The win put Juventus top of Group H, ahead of Sevilla by goal difference while Ligue 1 side Lyon sit in third.

Despite his team's strong performance in Zagreb, Allegri knows that Juventus can do even better.

"I repeat it, as the real challenge for Juventus now is to avoid complacency and the illusion that we'll win each game easily. As well as improving our overall performance, Juventus must bring home results, keep our feet on the ground and not lose sight of our objectives," Allegri told Mediaset Premium.

"Don't forget that achievements are all the sweeter when you must struggle to reach them. We ran a big risk at Palermo on Saturday and struggled to get that win.

"Dybala got his first goal of the season, I am happy for him and for the team. It was important to get our first Champions League win of the season.

"The side took the right approach. We made some mistakes in the second half, when we could've played better, and still need to improve. We need to play cleaner.

"We are working, we've only been together for 40 days and there are players who arrived after the Euros. It takes time to get the players into a unit and we've had a fairly decent start."

Allegri was also pleased with the contributions of Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado, who came on as a half-time substitute in place of the injured Pjanic.

"When we moved to four at the back to rest Andrea Barzagli, we played with two more attacking wingers. It was also an experiment for the future to see how it worked."

"Cuadrado played at Palermo and tonight [against Dinamo], but before that he hadn't played a game for four months."
