Juventus' Kwadwo Asamoah, Daniele Rugani out with knee injuries

Juventus duo Kwadwo Asamoah and Daniele Rugani have both been ruled out with knee injuries for between six to seven weeks.

Asamoah and Rugani picked up their problems during Saturday's 1-0 win against Palermo, with Juve confirming on Sunday that the pair face an extended spell on the sidelines, with Asamoah also requiring surgery.

"The extent of the injuries sustained by Daniele Rugani and Kwadwo Asamoah were clarified following medical examinations today," a Juve statement read.

"The tests revealed that Asamoah has ruptured the meniscus cartilage, while Rugani has strained the lateral collateral ligament, both in the right knee.

"The former is expected to undergo surgery with both players anticipated to return within around 45 days."

Asamoah and Rugani are due to miss key games for Serie A leaders Juve, including league matches against AC Milan and Napoli and Champions League clashes with Dinamo Zagreb and Lyon.
