Juventus: Juan Cuadrado left out of squad for Cagliari for 'family reasons'

Juventus have said that Juan Cuadrado missed out on a place in the squad for Wednesday's 4-0 win over Cagliari due to "family reasons," amid rumours of a dispute with coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Cuadrado, 28, was expected to make his first appearance for Juve on Wednesday since returning on loan from Chelsea on deadline day, but the Colombia international failed to even make the matchday squad.

Speculation has been mounting in recent days that he had not taken kindly to missing out on a spot in Allegri's starting XI, with claims he immediately quit training in anger.

However, a club spokesman has told Gazzetta dello Sport that Cuadrado's absence was down to "family reasons," without going into any further detail.

Cuadrado is reported to have apologised for leaving Tuesday's training session -- due to his family issues -- with Allegri not deeming him to be in the right frame of mind to play on Wednesday.

He was back in training on Thursday, though, and could now make the first appearance of his second spell with the Bianconeri at Palermo on Saturday.

Cuadrado is one of two alternatives to Dani Alves on the right, with Stephan Lichtsteiner having impressed when given the chance to stand in for the Brazilian recently.
