Juventus defender Martin Caceres involved in car crash - reports

Juventus defender Martin Caceres has been disqualified from driving for six months after crashing his Ferrari in Turin on Monday night, according to reports in Italy.

The ANSA news agency and La Gazzetta dello Sport also reported that Caceres, 28, was over the legal limit for alcohol.

The accident is said to have happened just after midnight, when the Juve and Uruguay defender lost control of his car after taking a wrong turn.

He reportedly hit the central reservation and collided with two parked cars before coming to rest wedged under a bus shelter. The player was able to walk away unharmed, but was fined €1,000 by the police, who took away his licence and his car for 180 days.

It is not the first time Caceres has been involved in an accident in the Piedmont city, having driven his car into the entrance of a metro station in 2013.

Caceres was expected to feature for Juventus in their Champions League clash with Sevilla on Wednesday night but it is not clear whether he will face any further punishment from the Bianconeri.
