Juventus striker Carlos Tevez out of Coppa Italia clash vs. Fiorentina

Carlos Tevez will miss Juventus' Coppa Italia semifinal second leg at Fiorentina on Tuesday night after pulling up in training with a muscular injury.

Tevez, 31, has been diagnosed with "muscle fatigue" and will return to Turin for further treatment.

The Argentina international is not expected to be sidelined for too long, with his club saying his exclusion on Tuesday night is a "precautionary measure."

Juve travel to Parma in Serie A on Saturday before hosting Monaco in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie next Tuesday and they will hope to have Tevez back for the second of those two fixtures.

"Carlos Tevez will miss out on tonight's Coppa Italia semifinal return leg clash with Fiorentina," read a statement on the club's official website.

"He returns to Turin as a precautionary measure due to persistent discomfort felt from flexor muscle fatigue in his right thigh, an issue first reported during yesterday's training. The Argentine forward will undergo further medical assessments tomorrow."

Tevez is currently top scorer in Serie A with 17 goals in 27 appearances. He has scored a further six goals in eight Champions League games this term, having ended his over five-year drought in that competition last September.

In his absence, Fernando Llorente -- who scored for Juve as they lost last month's first leg 2-1 -- could be partnered by Kingsley Coman or Alvaro Morata, although the former Real Madrid forward was expected to be rested on Tuesday ahead of the Monaco tie.
