Juventus' Paul Pogba can win Ballon d'Or one day, says Moussa Sissoko

Newcastle United's Moussa Sissoko has paid homage to Paul Pogba and believes his France international teammate can win the Ballon d'Or in the future.

Sissoko, 25, who has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, was quoted by footmercato.net as saying the Juventus midfielder, who has been in sparkling form for the Bianconeri this season, will win the Ballon d'Or -- football's greatest individual prize -- if he maintains his upward trajectory.

When asked whether Pogba, 21, can win the award, Sissoko said: "Absolutely. If he continues like his, I think he can win it. It'll take more work. I know he'll continue working, he has his feet on the ground. I hope for him he'll win it one day."

Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, recently claimed the former Manchester United starlet is the most expensive player on the market, and says Juventus could build a Champions League-winning squad with the proceeds from selling him.

Pogba signed a three-year contract extension through to 2019 with Juve at the start of the season, and Sissoko said the sought-after star may not leave Turin just yet.

"I don't know that. Juventus are one of Europe's biggest clubs," the former Toulouse player added. "I think he feels good there. He signed a new contract at the start of the season.

"But it'll be up to him to make a decision. Right now, you can see he's good in Italy. He's flourishing at Juventus. That's the most important thing.

"Everyone knows Paul Pogba now. Everyone knows what he is capable of doing on the pitch. He's really an extraordinary player. For his age, what he does is really impressive. He has every quality needed to go even higher."
