Alvaro Morata: Spurning English offers to sign with Juventus was right move

Alvaro Morata is confident that he made the right decision by spurning offers from England and instead signing for Juventus this summer.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal were reportedly interested in the Spanish international but he opted to move to Italy from Real Madrid.

"In the summer, I was training alone ahead of my move to Juventus," Morata told Spanish radio station Onda Cero. "I had the option to go and play in England but I had to trust those that wanted me even when things didn't go well.

"The Bianconeri literally came to my doorstep and told me that they wanted me. It was a case of loyalty."

The 22-year-old endured a difficult start to life at Juve, spraining his knee during his first training session with the Italian champions.

Morata missed Juve's pre-season but recovered and has adapted well to Italy's top flight.

He has scored four goals in seven league appearances to help Juve remain at the top of Serie A.

Juve, which paid 20 million euros to Real Madrid to acquire Morata's services, are on course to win their fourth-straight scudetto while they are also competing in the Champions League this season.

"I see the photos of [Alesandro] Del Piero, [Pavel] Nedved, [Zinedine] Zidane and [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic in the stadium and I realise that I'm in one of the greatest clubs in Europe," Morata said.

Morata, who is under contract with the Turin giants until June 2019, is currently on international duty with Spain.
