Morata to Juventus almost done

Juventus appear to have won the race to secure the services of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid after the Spanish striker arrived in Turin to tie up the deal.

English Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with a move for Morata in recent weeks, but the striker looks set to play his football in Italy next season after the Serie A champions confirmed his imminent arrival on their Twitter feed.

German side Wolfsburg were also reported to be keen to push through a deal for Morata, but the lure of playing for the Italian champions proved too much for the highly rated youngster to resist.

Morata's arrival would be Juventus' first signing since Massimiliano Allegri replaced Antonio Conte as coach earlier this week, with the capture of the 21-year-old Spaniard something of a coup for the Serie A side.

Reports in Spain suggest the deal could be worth as much as €22m, with Morata said to be keen to secure a move away from Real Madrid after he failed to secure a place in the first team line-up.
