Boro boss receives injury boost
Stevenage boss Graham Westley has been given a boost with several key players recovering from pre-season injuries to strengthen his squad.
Former Tottenham trainee Cameron Lancaster scored on his debut in Saturday's win at AFC Wimbledon, Ronnie Henry also made his bow but Calvin Zola is yet to feature despite being on the bench at Kingsmeadow.
Midfielder Charlie Lee warmed up for this clash with his former teammates by scoring against the Wombles on Saturday.
"I will have a laugh and a joke on the pitch with them but I am not going to be taking it easy on them," he told the club website. "If there is a 50-50 then I am going to do everything I can to win it. It is easier to kick your mates isn't it?"
Peter Taylor admits he will "make a few changes to get some fresh legs in" for Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy trip to Stevenage but insists he is still taking the competition seriously.
The Gills go into the tie on the back of a League One win over Crewe and Taylor told the club website: "We don't want to go to Stevenage and have a poor performance and then get a little bit negative before Friday.
"We will take it seriously without a doubt. If we win the match, lovely, if not then as long as we have a good performance that's the important thing for me."
Leon Legge could be given a recall after being dropped from Saturday's squad, while Callum Davies, his replacement on the bench, may also get a run-out.
