AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley will assess his squad following their 3-2 loss to Stevenage at the weekend.

The Dons boss is not expected to have any new concerns but he will be without long-term absentee Andy Frampton, who is out with a broken ankle.

Summer signing Jack Smith could be back in action after a knee injury has kept him out since the second game of the season.

Ross Worner may start in goal after losing the number one spot to summer signing James Shea. Ardley may give him a chance if he opts to make alterations to his side.

Gary Deegan is hoping to make his Southend debut after being on the bench over the weekend.

The former Coventry, Hibs and Northampton midfielder said: "Hopefully I can make my debut against AFC Wimbledon and we can get back at them for defeat in the league. I got 90 minutes under my belt in a development game last week. I'm ready to step up if the manager selects me."

The Shrimpers will be without the suspended Cian Bolger after he was sent off early on in Saturday's loss to Plymouth, with the defeat leaving United with just one point from their last three League Two games.

Manager Phil Brown added: "It's frustrating when you're left needing a positive result because of outside forces. But we've got to put it behind us as quickly as we can and I'm looking forward to the next game."
