Magpies too good for Town

Notts County proved too hot to handle for local rivals Mansfield as the Magpies secured a 2-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Meadow Lane.
The Magpies dominated the clash but had to wait until midway through the first half to make the breakthrough.
It was worth it, though, as a wonderful exchange of passes between Jake Cassidy and Ronan Murray ended with the latter drilling a low shot into the bottom corner.
Reece Brown, the on-loan Birmingham winger, also came close to adding a second before the break when he sent a firm header just wide of the post.
Mansfield's threat was limited, but Alex Fisher did force a save from Fabian Spiess early in the second half as they looked for an equaliser.
But normal service was resumed in the 65th minute when Cassidy grabbed a deserved goal with a clinical finish from close range.
