Jiangsu Suning coach Choi Yong-soo has warned his players against being complacent when they take on Australia's Adelaide United in the group stages of the Asian Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Australian champions Adelaide have struggled this season, sitting at the bottom of the standings in the A-League while losing their first game of the continental club championship against Gamba Osaka.
But, after picking up a 1-0 win in their opening game in the competition against Jeju United, Choi has warned his players not to take victory for granted.
"Tomorrow it will be our first home game of the season, and we won't let down our fans," said the South Korean coach.
"There are no weak teams in the Asian Champions League, and I told my players not to be arrogant or anxious. We need to go into the game with full fighting spirit. They are well prepared."
The game will be Jiangsu's first since losing in the Chinese Super Cup against Guangzhou Evergrande on Saturday, where a goal by Brazilian forward Alan ensured another win for Luiz Felipe Scolari's team against the club from Nanjing.
Choi, though, is confident his players have put the result behind them as they focus on the new season ahead.
"We have forgotten the Super Cup loss," he said. "Though the match calendar is intensive, our will power can help us overcome our physical fatigue. And we have had good fitness preparation and we can fight in every upcoming game.
"We have an advantage because we have the support from the home fans. The Australian players have a physical advantage and we have prepared for that."
