Italy boss Antonio Conte 'impressed' by Tottenham facilities on recent visit

Italy coach Antonio Conte was impressed with what he saw after kicking off a tour of Premier League clubs with a visit to Tottenham Hotspur's training centre on Tuesday.

Having visited all 20 Serie A clubs since becoming coach of the Italian national team last summer, Conte now wants to see how things are done in other countries, with London his first stop on a tour he hopes will provide him with new insights into the game.

"The reason for my visit is to study and to look at some of the situations at clubs in England -- especially in London," Conte is quoted as saying on Tottenham's official website. "I am meeting with some managers who I think are doing well and to discover the reasons why they are doing well."

"Impressed is exactly the right word! It looks like a very good place to work and for Tottenham Hotspur to develop their potential."

Conte, who led Juventus to three straight Serie A titles before resigning last summer, is set to pay Chelsea a visit before attending Tottenham's Europa League clash with Fiorentina on Thursday night, as well as Spurs' Premier League encounter with West Ham United at the weekend.

"Obviously it's a great sensation to be at the top of Europe and I think it's going to be a very interesting game on Thursday. It's a match between two clubs who are doing very well at the moment and playing some interesting football, so it's going to be a good game," Conte said.
