Serie A confirm rearranged dates for Sampdoria and Genoa fixtures after bridge collapse

FC's James Horncastle is in Turin to report on the news Cristiano Ronaldo will start in Juventus' opener and Claudio Marchisio has left the club after 25 years.
ESPN's Stewart Robson analyses how Massimiliano Allegri can get the best out of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

The Lega Serie A has rescheduled the two fixtures it postponed from the opening weekend of the new season.

Sampdoria's clash with Fiorentina and Genoa's trip to AC Milan were both called off in the wake of the tragic bridge collapse in Genoa, with a minute's silence for the victims also set to be held this weekend when the 2018-19 season gets underway in Italy.

The Lega Serie A announced on Friday the dates for the rescheduled fixtures.

Sampdoria will welcome the Viola to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in on Sept. 19 while Milan will host Genoa at the San Siro on Oct. 31, given their UEFA Europa League commitments in September.
