Gonzalo Higuain can expect hell on Napoli return with Juventus - Rossi

Paolo Rossi has warned Gonzalo Higuain that he can expect "hell" when he returns to Napoli on Sunday.

Higuain is back at the Stadio San Paolo for the first time since his summer switch to Juventus.

And Rossi -- given a hostile reception at the ground after turning down a move to Napoli in 1978 -- told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.

"His situation is certainly more difficult than mine was because he played for Napoli, but certainly for me it was hell.

"I managed to score a penalty, but each time I touched the ball there were crazy, deafening whistles. All I can tell him is that whistles make champions stronger."

Rossi rejected the chance to join Napoli from Vicenza, opting instead to join Perugia at the last minute, and a club record crowd of 89,992 made life difficult as possible for him on his first trip to Naples since that decision.

Higuain joined Juventus after setting a new Serie A record with 36 goals last season, and Rossi believes he should be applauded for what he achieved.

"Unlike me, Higuain gave Napoli a lot and warrants recognition," he said. "His choice should be respected, not forgetting that before him, [Edinson] Cavani and [Ezequiel] Lavezzi also both moved on."

Higuain is almost certain to lead the Juve line in Naples, with Marko Pjaca due to undergo surgery on Friday after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament while on international duty and being ruled out for the season.

Midfielder Claudio Marchisio told JTV: "I can imagine that this is not an easy moment for Pjaca.

"This injury comes at a key stage of the season, but Marko has a good working mentality, is still young and will have time to show off all his talent to everybody."

League leaders Juve head to Naples with a 10-point advantage over their third-placed hosts.

And former Juve coach Fabio Capello said he could not see them being caught even if they were beaten on Sunday.

"Juve are mature and know how to play each game -- they have a big advantage and they're not going to let themselves be caught," he told Il Corriere dello Sport.

"Napoli are good and they can cause problems, but Juve are outstanding."
