Inter Milan left frustrated by Bologna, Roma fall to defeat at Torino

Inter Milan had to settle for a point as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna at the San Siro, but were left to rue a bad miss by Andrea Ranocchia in injury time.

Inter, chasing a fourth consecutive league win, made a patchy start and were made to pay when Simone Verdi created the chance for Mattia Destro to score against his old club.

But they levelled thanks to a fine volley from Ivan Perisic, who smashed home Antonio Candreva's pass to level.

Gabriel Barbosa made his debut for the club as a second-half substitute, but the best chance for a winner fell to Ranocchia, who headed Perisic's cross wide from close range.

Iago Falque scored twice as Torino secured a home victory over Roma for the first time since 1990, winning 3-1.

Falque left Roma in the summer to join Torino on a season-long loan deal and made his parent club pay.

Andrea Belotti put Torino in front early on before Falque doubled the advantage from the spot after 52 minutes. Francesco Totti pulled one back, also from the spot -- his 250th Serie A goal -- but Falque scored his second after 65 minutes to seal the points.

Josip Ilicic missed a first-half penalty as Fiorentina were held to a goalless draw by AC Milan, who were indebted to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.

Slovenia international Ilicic hit the post with his spot kick midway through the first period, while an inspired display by Donnarumma kept the home side at bay.

Vincenzo Montella's Milan, winners of their previous two matches, remain sixth in the table, but can count themselves lucky against Fiorentina, who have now kept four clean sheets in six games this season.

Balde Diao Keita and Senad Lulic were both on target as Lazio secured their second home win of the season in Serie A, defeating Empoli 2-0.

Striker Keita fired home in the 29th minute and Bosnian midfielder Lulic made sure of the points by heading home in the final minute as Lazio climbed to fifth place in the table. Empoli remain in the bottom three.

Gregoire Defrel struck the only goal of the game to give Sassuolo a 1-0 home win against Udinese and lift them into Serie A's top 10.

French forward Defrel, who pounced from close range nine minutes before half-time, has now scored in each of Sassuolo's last four matches, while Udinese, who hit the crossbar in the final minute, slipped to their third league defeat of the season.

Nine-man Genoa held on to draw 1-1 against Pescara, who netted a late equaliser at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Genoa went ahead early in the second half when Giovanni Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego, finished well at the near post.

The Rossoblu were reduced to 10 men in the 74th minute when defender Edenilson got a second yellow card. Macedonia forward Goran Pandev, who had only come on at half-time, was sent off for dissent, and with five minutes remaining Rey Manaj levelled from close range.
