AC Milan are a team, not just reliant on Carlos Bacca - Vincenzo Montella

Vincenzo Montella is adamant that AC Milan are not overly reliant on Carlos Bacca, after the Colombian scored in their 2-0 home win over Lazio on Tuesday.

Bacca opened the scoring in the 37th minute before Mbaye Niang converted a penalty on 74 minutes to ensure victory for Montella's team.

The goal was Bacca's fifth of the season and his third in as many games against Lazio.

Despite his striker's form, Montella reckons the team have created the chances for the Colombian and everyone has played their part.

"Bacca is doing great things, but the team is putting him in positions to do great things," he told Mediaset Premium.

"Milan goes both with and without Bacca. I'm happy when he does perform like tonight, but I'm also happy for the spirit of the group and also for those who did not play because there is active participation by all.

"Luiz Adriano, for example. He is playing very little and I'm sorry. However, we will need everyone [to do their part]. This evening, at the match, I really liked the group.

"Our best business in the market this summer was keeping Bacca, but also [Alessio] Romagnoli and other Milan players."

Milan moved up to third in the Serie A table behind reigning champions Juventus and Napoli. Their next game is on Sep. 26 away to Fiorentina.
