Sampdoria president: Inter committed 'armed robbery' in draw

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero said Inter Milan had committed an "armed robbery" on his side by snatching a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday.

The Blucerchiati squandered an opportunity to move fifth in Serie A by conceding a late equaliser to Ivan Perisic, at a time Ferrero believes his side should have already gone into double figures against the Nerazzurri.

"It's an armed robbery," Ferrero told Mediaset television. "[Inter coach Roberto Mancini] can say what he wants, but I think that my Sampdoria should have won 11-1 today. Yes, we would have let them have one goal.

"They had lady luck on their side today. I don't think Inter are any better than us, in fact Samp are the best around. When the players move to Walter Zenga's tune, there's no opponent who can hold a candle to us."

Ferrero has strongly believed in Zenga even when he was being criticised following Samp's early elimination from the Europa League.

Despite branding his side the strongest, Ferrero is not getting carried away and he insisted their focus remains on their next match against Frosinone.

"Let's wash our hands of them, pick up the points and come home happy," he added.
