Filippo Inzaghi will have to do without Lopez for two weeks after he pulled his thigh muscle by making an awkward movement as he tried to clear a Mattia De Sciglio backpass against Parma. The ball ended up in the back of his net as a bizarre own goal.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been ruled out for at least a fortnight while full-back Alex will also miss the clash with Juventus on Sept 20. with an adductor injury.

Inzaghi will hope to have either Fernando Torres or Stephan El Shaarawy back from ankle injuries, but will not be able to count on Riccardo Saponara for the rest of the year.

The 22-year-old will undergo surgery after spraining his knee ligaments in training on Monday, his club have confirmed.

Meanwhile, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has said he is enthused by what he has seen during the first two weekends of the Serie A season.

Milan got their campaign underway with a 3-1 win over Lazio and that was followed by the spectacular 5-4 triumph at Parma, two games which have delivered the attacking brand of football he has repeatedly yearned for.

At the return to training on Monday, the club's general manager Adriano Galliani delivered a message from the president to the team, passing on his compliments "for the efforts shown in Parma, but above all for the active involvement and enthusiasm of everybody on the bench, which was clear to see with every goal Milan scored."

The Rossoneri have won their first two league outings for the first time since 2006-07, but they face the first real test of the season at home to defending champions Juventus in their next game on Saturday night.
