Walter Mazzarri delighted as dazzling Inter Milan run riot

Inter Milan coach Walter Mazzarri said his side produced his vision of "ideal football" as they humiliated Sassuolo 7-0 on Sunday.

Mazzarri said he hoped Inter would be able to keep giving that sort of performance after watching them score seven against the Emilia-Romagna side for the second season running.

"Our aim is to keep this attitude and have this concentration and determination, and an organisation which gives us security," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"Going at 1,000 miles per hour, not letting our opponents play, being quick, getting the ball moving... it's all in our DNA, and we need to carry on like this.

"We finished last season playing this style, with two forwards plus Hernanes and [Mateo] Kovacic. We've just changed a few of our players, but the system is the same, we just changed our wide players.

"This is ideal football, and let's hope we can carry on playing this way."

After scoring his first Inter goal in the Europa League last month, Kovacic opened his league account on Sunday, drawing praise from his coach.

"He's started to do defensive work and pressing, and it's going to do him good also when he plays for his national team," Mazzarri said. "He fits in well with his teammates. He's improving all the time."

He also had praise for midfielder Gary Medel, signed from Cardiff in the summer, saying the Chile international had been "fantastic."

"For the kind of attacking football we want, we need a player like him otherwise the sums don't add up," he explained. "I'm sorry for Sassuolo, but you can't do much when games go like this one."
