Urby Emanuelson signs for AS Roma

Italian side AS Roma have announced the signing of former Fulham and AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson.

The Dutchman, 28, has not played for his national team since 2012 and joins on a free transfer after his contract at Milan ended this summer. He has penned a one-year contract at Roma with the option for a second.

Roma announced the deal with Twitter photos and a video of the midfielder signing his new contract.

A statement on Roma's official website read: "AS Roma announces that it has tied up a sporting contract with the player Urby Emanuelson, with a duration of one year and an expiry date of 30 June 2015.

"The deal also includes the option, in favour of the club, for an extension of his contract for another two seasons."
