Udinese have confirmed the appointment of former Inter Milan boss Andrea Stramaccioni as their new head coach.
The 38-year-old Roman replaces Francesco Guidolin in the Stadio Friuli dugout after the well-travelled tactician decided to move into a supervisory role at the end of the 2013-14 Serie A season.
A statement published on Udinese's official website read: "Udinese have entrusted the direction of the first team to Andrea Stramaccioni. His contract here starts on July 1 and runs for two years.
"The new Zebrette coach will be formally presented at the Stadio Friuli on Friday June 6."
Stramaccioni had been out of work since being sacked Inter in May 2013.
Ironically, his last game in charge of the Nerazzurri had seen the San Siro outfit humbled 5-2 at home by Udinese.
Stramaccioni was promoted to the position of interim Inter coach following Claudio Ranieri's dismissal in March 2012 -- a decision made shortly after he had guided the youth team to glory in the NextGen series -- before being handed the reins on a permanent basis.
Yet despite delivering some impressive results, including a 3-1 victory over reigning champions Juventus, Stramaccioni's Inter slumped to a ninth-placed finish for the 2012-13 campaign and he was sacked in the days that followed the infamous defeat to Udinese.
A lack of experience may have hindered Stramaccioni in Milan but, given he is Guidolin's junior by 20 years, he will be able to call on the wisdom of the former Parma boss while finding his feet in Udine.
The Bianconeri, who finished a disappointing 14th last season, had failed to lure veteran coach Luigi Del Neri to the north-east before making their move for Stramaccioni.
