AC Milan snap up Michael Agazzi

AC Milan have completed the signing of Michael Agazzi from Cagliari, providing further back-up to Christian Abbiati and Gabriel as the Rossoneri's third-choice goalkeeper.

Paul: Season review

Agazzi, 29, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Chievo, made 25 Serie A appearances in the 2013-14 campaign.

He represented Cagliari a total of 125 times and was being lined up by Milan in January before joining the Flying Donkeys instead.

The Rossoneri confirmed the signing of Agazzi on a three-year contract on their official website on Thursday.

His arrival almost certainly seals the departure of goalkeeper Marco Amelia, whose contract expires at the end of June.

"We are close to finding a solution," Amelia's agent Franco Zavaglia told MilanNews.it.

"It's only normal that we take this step because there is no sign of any talks [with Milan] or any negotiations. It looks like he'll just have to gather his belongings.

"There's not one club in particular after Amelia. Torino and Cagliari were options dependent on the transfer market in January so now we've got to work on a different solution."
