Mohamed Salah draws rave reviews for form since joining Fiorentina

Mohamed Salah's two goals on Thursday brought his tally to six in seven games since joining Fiorentina.">

Mohamed Salah drew praise from his teammates, manager and the Fiorentina boardroom as the in-form Chelsea loanee scored two goals to help his team defeat Juventus on Thursday.

Salah has scored six goals in seven games for Fiorentina since arriving from Chelsea in January.

Fiorentina broke through with a piece of individual magic from Salah, who broke with the ball from within his own half and scored after reaching the opposite box.

"I've played with fast players before, but Salah is very technically gifted and can also score goals," said Alessandro Diamanti, who replaced Salah in the second half.

Salah joined on loan as part of Juan Cuadrado long-term deal at Chelsea, and Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella said his new player gives him more tactical flexibility than Cuadrado provided.

"Yes to a degree," Montella told Rai Sport. "The whole team is growing, not just Salah, though he is scoring a lot of goals. Salah is in a state of grace and we hope he can continue, but the team has been consistent since November-December.

"Salah settled in very well. We knew he was strong, but in all honesty his immediate impact has gone beyond expectations."

Fiorentina director Daniele Prade supplied some background on Salah's arrival from Chelsea.

"He's a strong player who is giving us great satisfaction, immediately settled into the squad and already the team relies on him," Prade said.

"He scored an incredible goal running for 70 metres. It was like when you're a kid, putting a cross forward for yourself and then running on to it.

"Up until Jan. 27, Cuadrado had a buy-out clause. At that moment we had to find an alternative, Chelsea had this strong player, we did well to choose and sign him.

"The move is our biggest economic move of January, but also our best one on a technical level. The squad has put itself at Salah's disposal and he is working for the team, so they are getting the best out of each other."
