Lazio and Juventus not fined for racist chants targeting Rudiger and Koulibaly

Roma defender Antonio Rudiger was the target of racist chants, the referee's report said.

Lazio and Juventus have both escaped fines from the Italian football federation despite the referee's reports from their Coppa Italia clashes noting racist remarks aimed at opposing players.

Roma defender Antonio Rudiger was the target of jeers and monkey noises during the match against Lazio on Wednesday, and an announcement was made asking fans to stop.

But the FIGC's disciplinary commission said it was "impossible to ascertain the number or percentage of the fans who joined in the chant,"...

Kevin Strootman urges Italian FA to act on racist chants by Lazio fans

Roma defender Antonio Rudiger was the subject of racist chants on Wednesday, says Kevin Strootman.

Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman hopes the Italian FA will intervene after racist chants were heard being made by Lazio fans at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.

Roma defender Antonio Rudiger was subjected to monkey noises during the Coppa Italia semifinal which the Biancocelesti won 2-0.

These emanated from the Curva Nord, where Lazio's hardcore fans are located, and several announcements were made over the public address system warning them that the game could be stopped if they continued.

In-form Dzeko, Roma sputter in first-leg Coppa Italia defeat to rival Lazio

Edin Dzeko has been phenomenal this season to the tune of 29 goals but he was nowhere to be seen on Wednesday.

Roma's search for their first trophy in nine years got a lot harder after being deservedly beaten by crosstown rivals Lazio in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile did the goalscoring damage, as Simone Inzaghi set up his side brilliantly to swarm one of Europe's in-form teams, easily soaking up Roma's tame attacks and tearing gaping holes in their backline on the break.

Roma huffed and puffed but in comparison with Sunday night's exertions at...

ROME -- Lazio won their first derby in nearly four years as they edged city rival Roma 2-0 in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semifinal on Wednesday.

Lazio hadn't beaten Roma since the Coppa final in 2013 but goals from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile ensured they ended a run of four successive defeats to their bitter rival.

Both teams had early chances in an entertaining match and Roma striker Edin Dzeko almost scored with less than two minutes on the clock but his effort was deflected...

Napoli director blasts 'shameful' penalty decisions given to Juventus

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli called the penalty decisions given against his club on Tuesday "shameful and damaging to all of Italian football."

Paulo Dybala converted two penalties in the second half to rally Juventus to a 3-1 win in their Coppa Italia semifinal first leg, and Giuntoli was angered by both decisions from referee Paolo Valeri.

The first penalty was given in the opening minute after the break, when Valeri ruled that Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly fouled Dybala.
