Inter Milan president Erick Thohir still has faith in boss Roberto Mancini

Inter Milan president Erick Thohir is happy to resist calls to sack head coach Roberto Mancini.

Despite investing heavily in the San Siro outfit's squad this summer, Mancini could only secure a fourth-placed finish in Serie A, with champions Juventus 24 points better off in the final league table.

Inter closed out their season with a 3-1 defeat at Sassuolo, with a number of travelling fans turning on the former Manchester City boss throughout the match and come full-time.

But Indonesian businessman Thohir wants to keep backing the 51-year-old.

He told calciomercato.com: "Many people are complaining and asking me to replace him, but if we spend our lives complaining we'll never solve any of our problems.

"We have to have faith in Mancini next season and in any case, he has another year left on his contract.''

Thohir, Mancini and director of sport Piero Ausilio are expected to meet later this month to discuss the club's approach to the summer transfer market.
