Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini to serve one-match touchline ban

Roberto Mancini must serve a one-match touchline ban for making an insulting gesture during Inter Milan's derby defeat to AC Milan.

The Inter boss was sent to the stands during the second half of a 3-0 Milan victory at San Siro.

He was unhappy with referee Antonio Damato's decision not to award his team a penalty.

A Lega Serie A statement confirmed the former Manchester City manager would be banned from the home dugout when Inter host Chievo on Wednesday night.

Speaking before the punishment was announced, Mancini had said: "I didn't say anything offensive but the officials are sensitive.

"We've lost 3-0 so it's difficult to comment on refereeing decisions. On two or three occasions, things didn't go well for the referee at all.

"There was a last-man foul in the first half [on Eder] so we deserved to be playing 11 against 10."
