Walter Mazzarri criticises Mediaset coverage as Inter Milan beat Atalanta

Inter Milan coach Walter Mazzarri has criticised Silvio Berlusconi's Mediaset media company for their coverage of his side's 2-0 win over Atalanta.

Rather than congratulate Mazzarri after Wednesday's game for a win which took the Nerazzurri up to third in the Serie A table, pundits from Mediaset -- in which AC Milan president Berlusconi's holding company Fininvest owns the controlling stake -- took a different view.

A push by Pablo Daniel Osvaldo in the build-up to his goal which set Inter on the way to victory was highlighted by the television cameras. The referee did not see it, nor did Mazzarri, but the Mediaset panel -- in particular former referee Andrea De Marco -- did.

"I'm sure if De Marco had been refereeing, he would have given a foul, but then again you often did give things the other way," Mazzarri said. "Why don't you show the other two penalties which weren't given for fouls on [Nemanja] Vidic? Come on, be impartial. You only show what you want to show whereas you should be objective."

The Inter coach instead preferred to highlight the strong performance of his side, and stated his pleasure at watching the team secure three more ppints.

"We played a great game and only if we want to be really picky, you could say we should have made it 2-0 sooner than we did and not suffered so much when our condition dropped," he continued, reserving particular praise for former Southampton forward Osvaldo.

"He's surprised me. He just needs to be more incisive. People were saying he's got a difficult character, but he's been very professional and contributes to the team spirit."

Osvaldo, 28, promised more was to come after his third goal of the season, adding: "My overhead kick came off well, but I'm happier about the win. I came here to play; to give the team a hand. I'm worthy of wearing this shirt and I will do well.

"I'm not 100 percent yet, but I'm feeling better game after game and this is important. We've got quality in this side."
